bamboo is wrapped around the mouth and base of this design. the bamboo is steam bent, similar to steam bent wood, and is held in place with bamboo straps. this pot is porous at the base, therefore it is only meant to hold dry arrangements or silk flowers. we suggest keeping this item indoors, however, it will be fine in a covered outdoor porch.
